The Taj Mahal is one of the finest examples of Mughal architecture with its exterior built of pure white shiny makrana marble inlaid with arabesque inscriptions and brightly colored precious gems using the age-old pietra dura craftsmanship. The clusters and strings of hundreds of glossy white pearls which are attached using hand-done piroi on this set emulate the base of the Taj, which is white marble. And the glistening hints of colored gems that are added to the tips of the pearls and to the handcrafted dori represent the decorative inlay work found all over the structure.
