Poetry, grandeur, and nostalgia have been interwoven to create our “Mughal pishtaq jhumkas”. The pishtaq was an integral part of the dome-shaped architectural buildings seen around northern India. The grandness of Mughal architecture is represented in the lines and lines of free-flowing jeweled strings which connect themselves back to the dome-shaped element in the form of a cylindrical tassel. The chiseled pattern engraved on the dome-shaped silver jhumka is reminiscent of the way Mughal monuments were always hand engraved with geometrical patterns and inscriptions.
